Terms of Service

Last updated: April 28, 2026

Welcome to Glown. These terms are the agreement between you and the operator of Glown (an Australian sole trader, ABN 52 606 397 297) about your use of the Glown mobile application and related services.

By creating an account, signing in, or using Glown in any way, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use Glown.

What Glown is

Glown is a mobile application for messaging friends. It supports two kinds of messages:

Both drops and beams are visible only to the recipients you explicitly select, and expire automatically — by default after 24 hours.

Glown is a hobby-scale service. It may have bugs, downtime, or missing features. We try our best, but we can't promise perfection.

Who can use Glown

You must be at least 13 years old to use Glown (or 16 where local law requires). If you're below the minimum age in your region, please don't sign up.

You agree to use Glown only for lawful purposes and only in ways that don't harm other people.

Your account

When you create an account, you agree to:

One account per person. Don't make fake accounts or impersonate others.

What you can and can't do with Glown

Glown exists so friends can share personal, fleeting, creative messages. It's not a place for:

This isn't an exhaustive list. If something feels harmful, it probably breaks these terms.

Your content

The messages you create — the text, icons, colors, coordinates (for drops), and recipients — are yours. You keep ownership of your content.

By using Glown, you grant us a limited license to store, transmit, and display your content only for the purpose of delivering it to the recipients you chose. We don't use your content for any other purpose. We don't train AI on it. We don't sell it.

You are responsible for the content you create. Don't share anything you don't have the right to share, or that breaks these terms.

Reports and moderation

Users can report other users or specific messages for review. We investigate reports in good faith, but we don't guarantee any particular outcome.

If we determine an account is violating these terms, we may — at our discretion:

Because Glown is friends-only by design, most moderation happens through blocking: you can block any user at any time to stop receiving anything from them.

You can leave anytime

You can delete your account from inside the app at any time (GRID screen → Danger Zone → Delete My Account → type DELETE). When you delete, your data is erased from our servers. This action is final.

We may also terminate or suspend your account if you break these terms, or if we stop operating Glown.

Service availability

Glown is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't promise:

We may change, pause, or discontinue parts of Glown at any time. We'll try to give advance notice of major changes when reasonable.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by Australian Consumer Law and equivalent local laws where you live, the operator of Glown is not liable for:

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law's consumer guarantees.

Total liability for any claim arising from your use of Glown, where liability is not excluded by law, is limited to AUD $100.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make meaningful changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, when reasonable, notify active users inside the app before the new terms take effect. Continuing to use Glown after changes means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute about these terms or your use of Glown must be brought in the courts of New South Wales, Australia, unless local law requires otherwise.
